Terms

Terms of use

The short version of the deal between you and this reading companion.

Last updated 2 June 2026.

What this is

The Reading Corner companion is a read-along tool for classic, public-domain literature: you listen to narration while the text scrolls, and tap hard words for a definition and pronunciation. By using it, you agree to these terms.

The books

Every title here is a public-domain classic — its copyright has expired. The narration and the per-word audio are generated specifically for this companion. Word levels use a list derived from the New General Service List and New Academic Word List, used under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence.

Fair use

  • Use the companion for your own personal reading and language learning.
  • Don’t scrape, bulk-download, redistribute, or resell the audio, text, or definitions.
  • Don’t try to break, overload, or work around the access controls on the service.

Your account

Keep your sign-in to yourself — an account is for one person. You’re responsible for activity under your account. You can sign out or ask us to delete your account at any time.

Availability & “as is”

The companion is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We may add, change, or remove books and features, and we can’t promise the service will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for any loss arising from using (or being unable to use) the companion.

Changes

If these terms change we’ll update the date above. Continuing to use the companion means you accept the updated terms.
