Oscar Wilde is famous for witty, quotable dialogue — his plays and his one novel sparkle with clever lines that are a pleasure to read aloud. The vocabulary leans toward the upper-intermediate and advanced end and the humour rewards a careful reader, but few writers make sophisticated English this entertaining.
